City kicked off their Women's Super League campaign against Aston Villa, it was a difficult defeat as City failed in securing any points in their opening league fixture. The only other time this has happened before is in our maiden WSL season in 2014 when we lost 1-0 against Liverpool. It’s clear we are a team in transition and patience is required but with an away trip to Chelsea on the horizon, two teams looking to redeem themselves from disappointing results from the past weekend. It is shaping up to be a fixture filled with expectation. On this week's episode we are delighted to welcome back Dave & Paul to the podcast for the first time this season.

We would like to thank our listeners and everyone who has contributed to the podcast across the last few seasons.

We’re pleased to welcome back Dave to the podcast for this episode of mcwfancast! We look back on weekend’s game against Hope Powell’s Brighton & Hove Albion.
City delivered a magnificent seven goals but not without a seagulls resurgence coming from 3 nil down before heading into the break at 3-2. Manchester City Women remained defiant throughout the rest of ninety to get the job done.
On to the next, Birmingham City for the final home game of the season campaign on Wednesday. Where we be honouring our Number 1, Karen Bardsley following the recent announcement of her retirement at the end of the 2021/22 season.
